PERFORMANCE UNIFORMS & MARCHING ACCESSORIES was conceived in November of 2000 after a heartfelt life changing conversation with my father John Loforte.  Wisely, he encouraged me to pursue a career which involved music, art and marching.  Drum corps, marching band and designing uniforms have been my passion since childhood.  My mother and father have always recognized my love of the activity.

Our family has a long tradition in drum corps and marching band participation.  As teenagers, my father and his brother Frank both  marched with the Holy Name Cadets of Garfield, NJ from 1938 through 1943. My mother used to tell me horror stories of her getting lost on the field during halftime shows!

I was blessed to follow my father's footsteps in 1978 and  got to "live the dream" by
marching with the Garfield Cadets drum and bugle corps. I proudly wore that same uniform as my father.

Following that I taught and wrote for several very good HS competitive field bands - including Syracuse University. In 1999, 2000 and 2001 I proudly marched with the Syracuse Brigadiers as we won the DCA World Championships three years in a row.

In 1979 I graduated from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh with a degree in graphic design.  My education there is the practical application of my design skill along with a visual experience of the activity for over twenty five years.

My uniform designs always start with dialog about what are the demands of your program and how many times a year does your band perform.
